I would like to introduce everyone to Michael my youngest son, and I would like everyone to know that Michael has always been my greatest challenge, because he is a mini me or at least he was growing up, and I just received my just desserts. Never fear he is a great joy to me, he always kept me on my toes! The very first day he entered the world he made the big announcement that he ruled. You ask how could that be, well let me explain. His first breath was a great cry with only his head appearing into the world the rest of him was still in the womb, and this cry caused a pin hole in his lung. Michael was rushed to Children s Hospital immediately and I only caught a glimpse of him well he spent four weeks in that hospital three of which he was in an incubator. I want you to know that he won the heart of all the staff members as well as his doctor of whom dubbed him Peanut. They would all take turns carrying him around because he refused once out of the incubator to stay in the crib he demanded attention and everyone gave it.
Once Michael came home his older brother and protector lovingly allowed him to have his way because he was the baby in other words he was a brat, but he loved him so he would over look a lot of transgressions Michael made on his property, but that was just Tony's way mature beyond his five years. I noticed Michael had a love for plants early in his life, because he like to eat them. At the age of six he cross pollinated my rose bush in my front yard with those of our neighbors roses and created stripe roses. Next I noticed he had planted green beans in my window box outside the kitchen. I was dubbed the plant killer by my friends because I loved them but they seemed to die when I looked at them. Michael brought my rubber plant back to life by creating a special plant food for it, and I never knew exactly what it was he just has a green thumb.
I really believe this replaced pets in his life because he only owned one pet and that was a box turtle. It was his responsibility to care for it, well by it being a turtle being quite I forgot about it. Needless to say he was too young to have such a responsibility because the turtle did not survive. Michael had filled his tank with water and the only place of survival the turtle had was on top of his rock and he had to hold it up to survive. Well that was my excuse as to why they couldn't have pets because I was to busy working two or three jobs trying to keep our heads above water myself, but Michael knew exactly how often a plant needed watering he gave it plenty of love and talked to his plants and they grew under his care as long as I didn't touch them.
I felt he should turn his studies toward science because of the God given talent that he had, but like his brother before him and most children they always do the opposite of your direction. So I guess you have figured out the answer is Not to Be a Botanist, oh but he would have been a great one. Well he turned out to be a great father and they flourish under his love and yes he talks to them and encourages them like he does his plants. Now you have met both my sons Tony and Michael and there is no greater love and friendship than between these two.
